Hello, I'm Thais Aguilera.

A Brazilian graphic and digital designer based in Perth, Australia.
With over eight years of professional experience, I am deeply passionate about the power of visual communication and the way images shape our perception of the world. Driven by an insatiable curiosity and an adventurous mind, I am fascinated by cultures and the visual identities that define them. I am inspired by each culture’s unique blend of history, colour, and storytelling, and my work celebrates these elements.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with leading brands in Brazil while also building a steady freelance practice. My portfolio includes illustrations, branding, and web design, with projects reaching audiences in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Porto Alegre, and now Perth. Among the highlights is my collaboration with Facebook for International Women’s Day, where I was one of ten Latin American artists invited to illustrate the strength and diversity of women across the region.
In my most recent role in Brazil, I served as Design Coordinator at Petí, where I led the company’s design team. I was responsible for rebranding the company, focusing on every detail in repositioning its identity in the marketplace. My responsibilities included developing and conceptualising the core brand and its sub-brands, overseeing social media, online and offline brand positioning, and implementing the new visual identity across the company’s physical stores.
I have also participated in two group exhibitions in São Paulo and Porto Alegre, as well as my solo exhibition titled FEMININUS in Rio de Janeiro, where I showcased original collage works. These projects not only expanded my artistic repertoire but also brought new perspectives to my graphic design work.
My journey began in the arts, initially studying Set Design and Costume, followed by Painting at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. This artistic foundation was enriched by further studies in photography, graffiti, and collage, broadening my creative background and shaping my vision in graphic design. I believe this artistic background is my key differentiator, allowing me to bring a unique perspective to each project.
My specialities include brand creation, web design, and illustration – tools I use to transform ideas into designs that are accessible, meaningful, and culturally connected. I love what I do, especially because I see design as a transformative tool. I am dedicated to creating pieces that, beyond being visually striking, can make a difference, promoting accessibility, knowledge, and cultural connection.
